2025 Registration Agreement

• I hereby represent that I am mentally and physically fit to participate in the full contact martial arts lessons for which I am willingly registering for.

• I understand and agree that the school owners, operators, and employees will not be held liable for any injuries, damages, etc. NOT caused by or resulting from the negligence of the owners, operators or persons in charge of such establishment, or employees. These parties are not responsible for any items lost, stolen or damaged while participating in Taekwondo events including training camps and tournaments.

• The class schedule may be occasionally modified at NB TKD Academy’s discretion for holidays, tournaments, promotional belt tests, and any other activities or events, including instructor availability, which will all have prior notice posted with as much time as is reasonable — sudden illness will obviously have less of a heads up. All such announcements are posted on the white boards in class as well as announced and posted on the club’s public Instagram and Facebook accounts. Students and parents are responsible for keeping informed.

• As leadership training is an important part of martial arts, black belt students as well as those at higher colour belt levels may assist the instructors with providing technical information and supervision in classes.

• Promotion from one rank up to the next requires not only the requisite amount of time spent training, but also a level of technical skill and physical fitness relative to the individual as assessed by instructors. I understand that the passing of a rank promotion exam is based entirely upon my level of proficiency displayed, and that I may be required to complete extra training to test again at a later date should I fail to meet the requirements expected of me.

• Regular participation in sparring classes is mandatory for all students at the level of 8th Grade (Yellow Belt) and higher. All students, whether they intend to compete in tournaments or not, are expected to have a full set of protective equipment by the time they have reached the level of 7th Grade (Orange Belt). All students must participate in competition training classes should they wish to fight at a tournament, regardless of their current rank.

• I understand that Taekwondo is a full contact martial art and that while it is always practiced with the utmost safety in mind, there is an inherent amount of risk associated with the practice and performance of the techniques involved. I acknowledge and accept that bodily injury may result from my participation in this activity, and that I am responsible for any damages incurred or sustained.

• NB TKD Academy may use pictures and videos of classes, tournaments, and other functions in promotional materials for the school including a variety of media (official website, promotional materials, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).

• New students will be notified of when they are eligible to attend Full Contact Sparring, Open Training and Poomsae (pattern) Training.

• I agree to stay home from practice should I or any member of my immediate household currently be afflicted with any communicable illness.

• I understand that the cost of uniforms, sparring gear, tournaments, belt tests, training camps, etc. are not included in my registration and monthly fees.
